about

‘The Burden’ is the second single from Grant J Robson’s upcoming fourth album and features indie legend Eugene Kelly on vocals.

Eugene is known for being one-half of Scotland’s The Vaselines, as well as Captain America, Eugenius, his own solo work and many collaborations.

The song is a tale of making a choice on whether or not a person’s past should dominate the future, of regret and hope.

lyrics

To me to me it’s timeless
We’ll keep the past behind us
I’ll choose the me to be
And if and if you choose
To play the part beside me
I’ll turn back willingly

The lie, the lie, the burden
I’m wearing far too thin
I’m losing parts of me
The dark the dark, I’m buried
Thoughts turn into worries
Always far from sleep

And if we could go back
And take a different path
And no-one else could see
We’d run and not look back
Descend into the black
The night time gravity
